The root cause of self doubt is fear. We fear of not being perfect, not being smart enough, not being pretty and the list goes on.
The reason we do is, we rely on others thoughts and completely crowd-sourced our confident to other people.
But one thing, don’t let your self doubt hold you back forever. Then you wouldn’t go anywhere. Because it’s so hard to take decisions when you doubt yourself.
So, here are 3 tips to become super confident
Don’t think what others are think about you.
The people around you are so busy with their daily chaos. They really don’t have the time to analyse that how you’re present yourself.
You can’t change how people treat you or what they say about you. All you can do is change how you react to it. ~ unknown.
See, what would happen if the people do think badly of you? Nothing.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. ~ Steve Jobs
You have no power to change external things, but can yours. It is all within and in your way of thinking.
My professor once told in my class, “always dress up for phone interviews”.
Clothing doesn’t just change the way others perceive you; it changes the way you perceive yourself.
It changes the way you talk and act. Always dress like the person you want to be, even if you’re not concerned with how others see you.
In today’s world no one has shortage of money to invest on some good clothes, but time.
Spend some time and put extra effort to figure out clothes that match your needs and you likes.

Become great at something
Try out different things, you may good at few things – but please become great at really one thing.
But it’s hard. the process is so longer.
It looks like this,
- Trying out a lot different things randomly that excites you.
- Then settling on one thing that at you’re going to be great.
- And giving up things that distract you from the process.
For say, I love a lot of things and I do a lot of things. Sports, arts, design and etcetera —— etcetera.
I have been playing football since my school days, I absolutely love it. But I also love writing, programming, graphic design and animation.
Do you think that I can do all of those above things in my whole life time? Do you think that I don’t have anything in life other than above said stuff?
I’am a worst programmer, It requires at least 3 years to get good at it and above 5 years to become great at programming.
But I’am good at football because of my longevity in that field, but not long enough to be great.
But I really great at writing. Great writing doesn’t mean just slapping few words and creating an article. It’s about research, finding and organizing information, writing draft, proof reading and editing.
Now I got those experience and I’am greater than most of my peers.
So, what I did to become great at writing?
- I gave up programming.
- I gave up graphic design.
- I gave up Animation.
- And I stopped playing at all, any game — not only football.
People used to say me. “Animation and programming are good career options, you can make lots of money, you need to also learn those skills as side by side.
I said them, “Bullshit”.
Because I couldn’t, I have a life. And already, I juggling many responsibilities such as giving lectures, replying GuruTechy readers emails and so on.
But those skills helped me to be more creative. Because I have lot of things (skills) to connect and they helped me improve my writing.
Graphic design and animation skills helped me to present or format my writing more beautifully. So, you can easily read (or scan).
Programming skill helped me to become great editor, proof reader and organize my works.
So, ultimately you need to be great at only one thing. but as a first step you need to do different stuff. Go and try out.
Different people has different opinion on ‘being confident.’
For some, maintaining a particular kind of body language from hair to bottom, wearing a particular brand clothes are like a confident booster..
But my principle about this topic is, the things that I have said above. And it works pretty well for me.
