Do you know many students who come from engineering background mostly apt for humanity subjects over their engineering major.
It is interesting to see, In India engineering is the most popular career choice and year after year the number of students who apply for engineering increases dramatically. Though in upsc, humanities subjects seems always popular among engineering students.
In my another post What are popular optional subjects in UPSC (CSE). I mentioned that totally 8 subjects are being popular optional subjects in upsc. Out of 8, you can’t see even a single engineering subject in the list.
The truth is, In India, most of the engineering students didn’t study well their major subjects during their graduation.
So, if you’re not sure whether you should choose your major as optional or not. Don’t worry, you’re totally normal as any other engineer.
For example, In recent 2016 CSE, toppers like Keshav Kumar, Abhilash Baranwal, Gaurav Kapoor are all engineering background students but they found success with humanity subject.
